NuvaCare Clinic

Women’s and Men’s Health in Cordova, Tennessee

NuvaCare Clinic provides primary and preventive care for women and men in Cordova and the greater Memphis area. Family medicine is designed to address health across different stages of life, from annual physicals and preventive care to chronic disease management and evaluation of new concerns.
Women’s Primary Care
Women can establish primary care at NuvaCare for annual physicals, preventive-care discussions, chronic disease management and evaluation of common health concerns. When pregnancy becomes part of a patient’s healthcare needs, NuvaCare also provides prenatal and obstetric care through Dr. Ojeda-Cruzado’s obstetric practice.
Prenatal and Obstetric Care
Dr. Axel Ojeda-Cruzado holds separate board certifications in Family Medicine and Surgical Obstetrics. This allows NuvaCare to combine family medicine with pregnancy care within his clinical scope. Patients who need higher-risk obstetric care or a specialist referral should be directed based on the physician’s clinical judgment.
Men’s Primary and Preventive Care
Men’s health is an important part of family medicine. NuvaCare provides annual physicals, preventive care, chronic disease management and evaluation of common concerns for husbands, fathers, sons and grandfathers. A regular primary care relationship can make it easier to address health issues before they are repeatedly postponed.
Chronic Disease Management for Adults
NuvaCare provides ongoing management for conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Chronic care may include medication review, monitoring, preventive-care planning and follow-up based on the patient’s condition and physician recommendations.
One Practice for Couples and Families
One of the strengths of family medicine is continuity. Husbands and wives, parents and children, and multiple generations of the same family can receive care through one practice. That can make it easier for a physician to understand family history, health patterns and the practical realities that affect a household’s care.
Care in Spanish
Dr. Ojeda-Cruzado speaks Spanish, and the patient-experience/front-office team can assist Spanish-speaking patients with scheduling, insurance and self-pay questions. NuvaCare’s goal is for patients to be able to ask questions and understand their healthcare in the language they are most comfortable using.
