NuvaCare Clinic was created around a simple belief: patients should never have to choose between excellent medical care and an excellent healthcare experience. Over the years, healthcare has become increasingly fast-paced. Too often, patients feel rushed, questions go unanswered, communication breaks down and small details are missed. NuvaCare was built around a different starting point: good medicine begins with listening.

What are you hoping to accomplish? Our clinical approach begins by listening, followed by an appropriate examination and medical evaluation. From there, we want patients to understand what we believe may be happening and the reasonable options available to them.

Saturday Appointments in Cordova
NuvaCare Clinic is open Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in addition to weekday hours. Saturday appointments can be especially useful for parents, working adults, students and families who have difficulty leaving work or school during the week. Patients may call (901) 664-3843 to request a Saturday appointment.
English and Spanish Care
NuvaCare Clinic provides care in English and Spanish. Dr. Axel J. Ojeda-Cruzado personally speaks Spanish, and the patient-experience/front-office team can assist Spanish-speaking patients with scheduling, insurance and self-pay questions. Being able to describe symptoms and ask questions in the language a patient is most comfortable using can make an important difference in how clearly a visit is understood.

Meet Dr. Axel J. Ojeda-Cruzado
NuvaCare Clinic is led by Dr. Axel J. Ojeda-Cruzado, MD, who holds separate board certifications in Family Medicine and Surgical Obstetrics. His clinical work includes family medicine, preventive care, chronic disease management, pediatric and adolescent care, women’s and men’s health, prenatal care and obstetrics within his scope of practice. Dr. Ojeda-Cruzado speaks English and Spanish and believes patients should feel comfortable asking questions and participating in decisions about their health.
