Diversity in Scrubs

Mental Momentum

From the South Side of Chicago to the operating rooms of UT Southwestern Medical Center — Dr. Venita Simpson is a board-certified neurosurgeon, Clinical Assistant Professor, and one of the most respected voices in complex spine and brain surgery in the country. She completed her medical school training at Georgetown University School of Medicine, and went on to complete a complex spine fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine — where she made history as the first Black female to ever complete a fellowship — and at MD Anderson. Her 87 five-star patient reviews are a testament to surgical outcomes that speak louder than any title.

Prosecco & Progress

This is the brand that captures the full Dr. Venita Simpson experience — discipline and celebration living side by side. Ambition and joy. Scrubs and stilettos. Prosecco & Progress is the lifestyle platform for women who refuse to choose between their grind and their glass. Apparel, events, content, and a community built around the truth that working hard and living fully are not opposites — they are the whole point.

Diversity in Scrubs

Diversity in Scrubs is where Dr. Simpson’s identity as a physician and a cultural icon converge into a product you can wear. Premium stretch scrub jumpsuits with the embroidered DIS logo — designed for medical professionals who want their attire to say something about who they are and why they showed up. Every stitch is a statement.

The Med School Plug

Dr. Simpson puts everything she knows into one comprehensive e-book — the exact roadmap she wished she had growing up on the South Side of Chicago. Every chapter tears down a wall between an aspiring physician and their white coat. $299 for the public. Free for students with a code. Because access should never be the barrier.

Doctors in the Beehive

Dr. Venita Simpson will tell you herself — Beyoncé gets her through surgery. On the days when a case is long, grueling, and demands every single thing she has, it is Beyoncé’s music catalog playing in that OR that carries her through. And the results? They speak for themselves. Dr. Simpson is unapologetically Black, unapologetically herself, and unapologetically a member of the BeyHive — in the operating room and everywhere else. She also advocates loudly for physician freedom in the OR: the right to play whatever music helps you perform at your absolute best. Beyoncé. Cardi B. Young Jeezy. T.I. Whatever gets you there. Doctors in the Beehive was born from that truth — a community for physicians who move through medicine with that same unapologetic energy.

Dr. Brain on the Stage

Dr. Venita Simpson is a board-certified neurosurgeon and Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Originally from the South Side of Chicago, she completed her medical school training at Georgetown University School of Medicine and went on to complete a complex spine fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine — where she made history as the first Black female to ever complete a fellowship — and at MD Anderson. She is a retired Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Medical Corps, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and one of the most compelling voices in medicine today.
